The Great Laxey Wheel (also known as Lady Isabella) is the largest working water wheel in the world. Located in the picturesque village of Laxey on the Isle of Man, this iconic 72-foot-6-inch (22.1-metre) structure stands as a masterpiece of Victorian industrial engineering. Built in 1854, it was designed by local engineer Robert Casement to solve a severe flooding crisis by pumping water from the depths of the Great Laxey Mines.
